Jai'mie
from Summer Heights, an Australian television mockumentary
series. Chris Lilley plays all 3 characters effeminate
"Director of Performing Arts" Mr G, privileged
teenager Ja'mie King and Tongan student Jonah Takalua.
It
lampoons Australian high school life and many aspects
of the human condition and is filmed in a documentary
style, with real people playing supporting characters
Filmed in Melbourne at Brighton Secondary College,
the series premiered on 5 September at 9:30pm on ABC
TV (Australian Broadcasting Corporation) and continued
for eight weekly episodes. Each episode was also released
as a weekly podcast directly after its screening via
both the official website and a podcast.
Summer
Heights High was a huge ratings success for the Australian
Broadcasting Corporation, and was met with mostly
positive critical reaction. The series debuted on
5 September 2007
Coming
to BBC Three in the United Kingdom and HBO in the
United States premiering November 09 08 . In Canada,
the series will premiere on The Movie Network.
