One
night, HIV positive crystal meth addict Matthew Blanchard
passed out in his apartment. He awoke 12 days later,
suffering from a brutal bacterial infection that destroyed
his face. He is now clean, sober and in the process
of reconstructing his life, and his physical self...
'Construct' was made as part of the HIV Story Project's
feature length compilation 'Still Around', which will
be making its way around festival world-wide in 2011.
There will be 15 short non-fiction films like this
one, telling the stories of people living with HIV/AIDS.
It differs from the AIDS Quilt in the key fact that
the quilt reminds us of those who are gone, but this
project reminds us of the people who are still here,
and hopefully aren't going anywhere any time soon.
