Cotton vs Pinhead. Miss Cotton is caught in a classic horror movie. She is stalked by Pinhead appearing, disappearing and playing mind games with her. The inspiration for this short was a Vanglam photo shoot of Pinhead by Michael Venus.

The Vanglam Portrait Series features Michael Venus and Cotton portraying iconic characters in pop culture history. Great care is taken in the details to redo classic images of Farrah Fawcett, Morrissey, Grace Jones, Pee Wee Herman, Joan Jett, David Bowie, Lucille Ball, Billy Idol, Eraserhead, Princess Laya, Michael Jackson, Blondie, Boy George, Posh Spice and James Dean.

The Legend of The Westend Werewolf is the second installment of improvised Halloween specials. Just as The Lost Girls, it was shot with a handheld night vision camera and later tinted blue. A subversion of werewolf films in general, and John Landis’ An American Werewolf in London in particular, Westend Werewolf was entirely improvised. Featuring friends from the House of Venus playing themselves in their ordinary lives, but in extraordinary situations.

Six years ago wayoutwest.tv we made our first Halloween video series for the web. It starred friends from the House of Venus. Shot with a night vision camera and later tinted red, The Lost Girls came into being without a script, story boards, crew or trained actors. In pseudo-documentary style, The Lost Girls features the House of Venus gang playing themselves in their ordinary lives, but extraordinary situations. The Lost Girls was shot in sequence over the course of one day and two long nights in September 2001.
