Fifteen years later, Danny is faced with the possibility of losing Allan, his current lover, unless he keeps his promise to never paint the boy again.

ICONS & DEMIGODS - Michael Venus. Before he was Farrah Fawcett, Michael Jackson, or Freddy Krueger, Michael Venus was a skinny boy who lived somewhere in between rural Southern Ontario and the kingdom of his own astonishing imagination...

The portrait-based project that includes over 50 images, originally came into existence as a postcard series called VanGlam in 2000, is something of a time capsule, says Venus. It’s a reference to the influences that shaped him as an artist.

Daydreams of becoming Farrah Fawcett were what originally inspired Michael Venus to create Icons and Demigods. The red bathing suit, tilted head, wide smile and silky long blond hair: the resulting similarity between Venus, a young man, and Fawcett was uncanny.

With some help from Vancouver print shop Clubcard who collaborated with Venus to produce the first postcards, which were distributed to shops and clubs around the city, suddenly everybody was asking the same question: is that Farrah Fawcett, or a man?
